The Biot-Savart Law describes the magnetic field generated by a steady current. It is derived from Ampère's circuital law and Coulomb’s law. The law states that the magnetic field dBd\mathbf{B}dB at a point in space due to a small current element IdlId\mathbf{l}Idl is proportional to the current and inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the current element. The magnetic field is also perpendicular to both the current element and the line connecting the element to the point of observation. Mathematically, it’s given as:
dB=?04?Idl×r^r2d\mathbf{B} = \frac{\mu_0}{4\pi} \frac{Id\mathbf{l} \times \hat{r}}{r^2}dB=4??0r2Idl×r^
