Plain Dyed Cotton Trouser

Exceptional comfort and style with this Asifa & Nabeel Meraki Printed Lawn. With a substantial 300 GSM fabric weight, it strikes the perfect balance between warmth and breathability, keeping you comfortably snug throughout the day.

Garment dyed means the colour is added after the fabric has been cut & sewn, rather than being coloured before it is cut (standard). This technique gives a softer texture and a faded look to the cloth that will become more worn and vintage over time.

This pair of trousers is made from a lightweight cotton for summer, with side & rear pockets, and belt loops. It pairs well with linen shirts and tweed sport coats, and the natural stretch makes it comfortable for everyday wear.

The main attribute of a good trouser is that it hangs well - the cloth should drape cleanly and consistently, retaining its shape despite movement / stretching / sitting, without becoming bagged or stretched out of shape. This is usually a sign that the fabric has a little natural 'give', which comes from the yarns being tightly woven together in every inch of the cloth.

There are some types of cloth that are very suitable for trousers, a few that aren't and a few that are just ok. A wool twill is best, but it depends on the colour and weave: hard-finished worsted wool (standard suiting) might work, but it tends to be a little too shiny for separate Asifa & Nabeel, and can often seem old fashioned as a result. Likewise, gabardine - it is a good fabric but the hard finish can make it feel quite stiff and unyielding. A better option might be a smooth cotton twill, which is still sturdy enough for trousers but has the advantage of being a bit more flexible and comfortable.
